John A. Becker

John A. Becker Attorney John Becker handles primarily personal injury and workers' compensation matters. He has tried cases throughout southeastern Wisconsin and has argued numerous cases in the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

In 1988, he became the second youngest lawyer in the state of Wisconsin to be certified as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. The National Board of Trial Advocacy is a national organization of civil and criminal trial attorneys. Certification requires meeting certain requirements with respect to, among other things, the number of cases tried to a jury, the passing of an eight hour exam, and obtaining references from judges and attorneys. In 2001, with over one million lawyers in the country, there were only about 2,500 who are certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Attorney Becker is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America Consumer Guide in the area of workers' compensation. This is a publication of 6,000 lawyers throughout the country who have been nominated by their peers as being the best in their area of practice. He has been named as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer for 8 consecutive years. He has also served as the president of the Racine Bar Association in 2000-2001.

John Becker is the author of Recreational Immunity In Wisconsin, the leading authority on this subject in the state. He has also written several informational booklets that are available free through the office. A Guide to Workers' Compensation and A Guide to Personal Injury are to help the public become more knowledgeable about their claims and their rights before talking with an insurance company or an attorney.

Both workers' compensation and personal injury claims are handled on a contingent fee basis, and there are no attorney fees unless there is a recovery.
